Description

C18 PAINTING SHOWS THE 'DUTCH' GARDEN OF THOMAS WHARTON, EARLY C18 (B8). ONLY MARKS OF FORMER GRANDEUR IN 1799 WERE LONG AVENUES OF LIMES & A TERRACE WALK(B10). THE LONG, STONE GARDEN WALL ON THE RIGHT OF THE PAINTING (CAS1963) SURVIVES. EARTHWORKS PROBABLY MARK FORMER PARTERRES, PATHS ETC (B11).
