Description

GREENLAND HOUSE BECAME MAIN SEAT OF YEWDEN MANOR (SEE CASS 04540) IN 1480 (B1).
ORIGINAL HOUSE STOOD ON RIVER BANK, S OF PRESENT SITE. GARRISONED FOR THE KING IN 1644, UNDER SIR JOHN D'OYLY, & BESIEGED BY PARLIMENTARIANS FOR A MONTH & DEMOLISHED AFTER THE SURRENDER (B2-4).
