HELD BY ALRIC BEFORE CONQUEST. 1086 WALTER GIFFARD THEN THROUGH MARSHALS TO EARLS OF GLOUCESTER. MANOR DIVIDED BY 1255, OWNED BY BIRMINGHAMS UNTIL 1545 WHEN MANOR UNITED & PROPERTY OF DORMER FAMILY. 1773-1783 MANOR AGAIN UNITED BY SIR JOHN AUBREY. SINCE FOLLOWED DESCENT OF BOARSTALL (B4).
