Description
Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century milestone on A4010 in Little Kimble outside Hatch Furlong. Present in 2002 on updated Milestones Society survey website on Wycombe to Aylesbury route National ID number BU_WYAY11. On west side of road 23 cm wide 19 cm deep 58 cm high . ' Bare stone ? a little too far south close to a domestic garden GPS 8232 0699.' No inscription recorded in 2002. [ Detailed description, location and photograph available ] (B1).
Confirmed by handwritten notes on 1" OS (1835) were in Bucks County Museum now in Centre for Bucks Studies. Museum number 33 sheet XXXIII page 4 of notes. Inscription : Wycombe 12 London 45. ' S. of L. Kimble'. On Princes Risborough, Kimble to Nash (J2) route.Also MS on all historic layers database 8235 0672 on west side road but not on current OS map. Sited here.
