Description
Winslow gasworks shown on 1st Edition 25-inch OS map. Demolished before 1900 when 2nd edition 25-inch map of 1898-1900 shows site occupied by a terrace of houses (B1).
Winslow Gas Co established in the High Street in 1842 (B2).
Winslow streets were lit by gas from 1843 when a small gasworks was built on the High Street (B3).
THE GASWORKS ARE IN THE HIGH ST & WERE ERECTED IN 1842 (B4 (1862)).
Old gasworks removed to near the railway station 1860 [see CAS 9447] (Manuscript note adds; old gasworks pulled down March 1881) (B5).
