Description
The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes a well-preserved earthwork mound, some 60m long x 13m wide x 2m high, with a flat top. The mound is opposite the bastion in the Ha Ha. It may have been constructed to hide the view of Boycott brickworks, or may have had some military training function for the Buckinghamshire Yeomanry. Tree holes and stumps lie at the base of the eastern edge (1).
