AFTER CONQUEST GRANTED TO BISHOP OF BAYEUX. BISHOP ODO LOST LANDS UNDER WILLIAM RUFUS: WENT TO MUNCHESNEY FAMILY. MID C13 CLAIMS BY VALENCE; EVENTUALLY CAME TO FAMILY 1314. OTHER FAMILIES WHICH HELD MANOR INCLUDED WHITINGHAM & VERNEYS. SOLD IN EARLY C17 TO REGICIDE SIMON MAYNE (B2).
