Description

FINDS OF LATE IRON AGE TO ROMANO-BRITISH DATE FOUND BY TOM CLARK IN 1994-1995 WHILST METAL-DETECTING AND CARRYING OUT MINI-EXCAVATIONS AT UPTON. FINDS MOSTLY FROM AN AREA CENTRED ON NGR (7, 8).
Aerial photographs taken in 1996 reveal additional earthworks. (10)
The field had been divided into smaller areas by Mr Clark and the archive letters, notes and photographs give an indication of the variety of pottery and metal finds that were made. The finds included sherds from Romano-British Oxford Mortarium and buckles, rings, weights and a clasp. Buckingham County Museum reference N1363 (11).
