Description
GRADE II. MID C16 AND LATER. TIMBER-FRAMED WITH BRICK INFILL, TILE HUNG FIRST FLOOR. TWO STOREYS. TWO LARGE END GABLES, 2 SMALL CENTRAL ONES. FOUR 3-LIGHT CASEMENTS, OLD TILE ROOF WITH ORIGINAL STACKS , ONE WITH 2 DIAGONAL BROACH SHAFTS AND LATERAL TO END OF CROSSWING, THE OTHER WITH 4 DIAGONAL SHAFTS AND ONE C17 SHAFT. INTERIOR HAS CROWN POST ROOF IN RIGHT HAND CROSSWING, 2 ORIGINAL RED BRICK FIREPLACES (B1).
Wall paintings found in first floor room during extensive repairs to house. Design of a simple arrangement of squares filled with various geometric patterns in black paint. The borders are straight lines connected at the corners by small diamonds. A room on the ground floor had studs ornamented in white with a scroll design (B2).
