GRADE II. COTTAGES, C17, CHEQUER BRICK. C19 MANSARD TILE AND SLATE ROOF WITH THREE GABLED DORMERS, D ENTIL BRICK EAVES. 2 STOREYS, FIRST FLOOR BAND WIT H CAVETTO MOULDING, 3 DOUBLE-HUNG SASHES IN REVEAL S WITH CAMBERED HEADS, FLAT TOPPED BRICK ARCHES. C 19 TO FIRST FLOOR. PLAIN SHUTTERS TO ground floor. Return elevation on left has chimney stack with diaper pattern brickwork and round arched panel, raised brick imposts and key. History: the residence of D H Lawrence from August 1914 to january 1915.
