Description

GRADE II. C.1912. FORMER GENERATOR ROOM. COLOURWASHED STOCK BRICK WITH MACHINE TILED ROOF: OVERHANGING EAVES WITH TILED SOFFIT; CEMENT RENDERED PLINTH. 1 STOREY. 5 SASHES; AT SOUTH END AN APSE WITH BANDED COURSES OF TILES IN BRICKWORK & AN ARCH WITH KEYSTONE & BROKEN PEDIMENT (B1).
A PRIVATE GENERATOR HOUSE DESIGNED BY EDWIN LUTYENS AS PART OF THE NASHDOM HOUSE ESTATE BUILDINGS (1911-12). THE PRINCIPAL INTEREST OF THE BUILDING IS IN ITS ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND NO IN-SITU PLANT IS THOUGHT TO REMAIN. CONSIDERED TO BE OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE (B3).
