Description

GRADE II. SMALL HOUSE. EARLY C16, ALTERED. TIMBER FRAME WITH CURVED AND DIAGONAL BRACES AND BRICK INFILL, PARTLY HERRINGBONE, PARTLY C19. ONE RENDERED PANEL TO FRONT. RUBBLE STONE PLINTH. TILED ROOF, REBUILT CHIMNEY OF THIN BRICK TO RIGHT. 2 STOREYS, THE UPPER JETTIED TO FRONT WITH FINELY [MORE](B1).
Surviving building interpreted as former solar of a larger building. Hammer beam truss ('false hammer beam' or 'vernacular hammer beam') roof, possibly of early 15th century date. Solar of 3 bays with stone cellar beneath (B2).
