Description

RENOVATION OF C17 COTTAGE INVOLVED UNDERPINNING SE WALL. EXCAVATION BELOW SE BAY OF NE WALL REVEALED A SERIES OF LARGE STONES, UP TO 0.7M LONG, 0.5M BELOW PRESENT WALL BASE; ALSO PARTS OF 2 VERTICAL SCANTING POSTS, OAK? FEATURES PROB BELONG TO AN EARLIER STRUCTURE ON SAME WALL LINE AS PRESENT ONE (B2).
