CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (B4).
A presumed kiln site was found in 1939 when digging a cess pit in front gardens. 14 perfect tiles, all different and thought to be a trade sample, were found as well as fragments of plain black, brown, and yellow floor tiles and a preponderance of roof tiles. One of the decorated tiles was part of a 9-tile mosaic with a roundel in the middle and descrbed as unique (B4).
