Description

'GASOMETER' AT NGR. SITE NOW HAS SCHOOL SWIMMING POOL BUILT ON IT (B11).
Watching brief carried out by Oxford Archaeology during service trenching from October 2002 to April 2003 identified a number of remains of brick foundations and a brick-lined tank with cast iron pipe, probably associated with the former 19th century gasometer (Trench 2). See report for details (B26).
